NOTHING BUT A WHOLE LOT OF SOMETHING
I've taken a little break from social media and posting on my blog but now I am able to focus again. I love using instagram, my blog and youtube as a way to communicate and connect with people. As a stay at home mother of three who lives abroad and doesn't have any permanent social circle in one place, using social media is crucial for my own sanity. This is a topic I will do a blog or a vlog post about in the near future.
First things first. I want to thank my mother for ALWAYS being there for us. I was so nervous moving to Rostov and after being there for a week and looking through Roman's game schedule, I noticed how often I would be alone. So I asked my mother to join me for moral support and without any doubt she applied for her visa and packed her bags. So mommy... thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support, love and care!
A lot has been going on lately that I don't want to get in to yet. Just because it is all so very unsure... but I would like to share how we've been doing for the past weeks.
We left Rostov on the 21st of May to Moscow. Adriana attended her last days of school and we were able to arrange a magical pre-birthday party for her. She was so happy to celebrate with her friends from school and with her cousins. My firstborn graduated Year 2 and I couldn't be more proud of her! I can't emphasis enough, how tough all of the changes have been on her. She was suddenly taken out of school after the Christmas holidays and she had to continue her studies from home. We tried to find her a tutor in Rostov, without any success. I have been her teacher for the past six months and all I can say is that it has not been easy... not for her and not for me. She did it though and somehow I managed to do it as well. I adore Adriana and her determination and I am 100% sure she will succeed in anything she puts her mind to. On the 1st of June the school held an ''End-of-the-Year'' concert at the Hilton hotel. It was so fun to watch the kids sing and dance. After the concert children were handed their certificates of advancements. It was a very emotional moment for me as her mother.
We took an evening flight home to Helsinki on the 1st of June. I can not even put in to words how good it felt to open the door to our home, which holds our everything. The difference with this home is that it is OUR home, not just a rental home. Even though we arrived really late on Saturday, we still switched on our sauna and enjoyed that before going to bed. Really the best feeling in the world! We've been home now for four days. Unfortunately I haven't been feeling the greatest. I don't know if it's allergies or my body reacting from the rough past weeks. Summer seems to be arriving here in Finland, which means it's time to get the outdoors of our house looking pretty again! I did some garden shopping earlier this morning and now I'm going to head outside to plant everything. Roman has about ten days left of his summer break and then he will be leaving us. I will be staying with the kids in Helsinki for three months and I am super happy about that. I am looking forward to something very important to me. I will also get to see some friends that I haven't seen for ages and I will get to spend quality time with my sister and father, whom I always miss like crazy when we are apart. So all in all I am looking forward to an amazing summer well spent in Helsinki.
Hope you all are doing well and enjoying the summer heat!
