GAME ON

Last Sunday, FC Rostov faced a very important opponent. A game that all of Rostov had been waiting for a long time. Spartak is the most popular and emotion triggering team in all of Russia. Emotion triggering not only for football fans, but also for many players, including my husband.

My husband Roman actually signed with Spartak in August 2018. We moved to Moscow,
and we knew it was a possibility that Spartak would not continue with Roman after the first half of the year. Even so we settled in just like always and made Moscow our home.
Everything was going well in our private life, but Roman was having difficulties settling in with his new team. The head coach who wanted to sign him got fired and things just got very confusing afterwards. The beginning was rocky and Roman got injured, which pulled him out of the game for six weeks. It was really bad timing, but unfortunately that is the reality of an professional athlete. You can never take your psychical health for granted.

Winter break started in December, and in January Spartak informed Roman that they will discontinue his contract. That was a stressful time for us, not knowing where he would go next. We had half of our other life in Moscow, Adriana's school etc. Yet another home to pack up and relocate somewhere else. In January it was confirmed that Roman would sign a two year contract with FC Rostov. The second half of the season started in the end of February and that is when a path of new success opened up for him.
So far six games in the Russian league (consisting of two goals and one assist)
and two Russian cup games (consisting of one goal).
He has also been recognised as the best player of the match by Rostov voters three times.

The only good memories we have from living in Moscow, was Adriana's amazing school,
our comfortable home and the certain fans from Spartak, who welcomed Roman to the team and supported him as a player. Thank you fans for that!
All in all, certain things were handled unprofessionally in Spartak organisation, and for that reason ONLY I am sure Roman had extra ambition to succeed and claim victory with Rostov.

I have been with Roman and I have followed him as a professional athlete for thirteen years now. I have seen him in his highest yet lowest points. His path to becoming a respected and talented footballer has been made with ambition, hard work and dedication.

I created a ''Game Day Vlog'' for you to watch. Hope you enjoy! :)
