FROM ONE CITY TO ANOTHER

The past week has been crazy busy!
Guess what? We moved... again! This will now be our third city within seven months.
From Helsinki to Moscow, Moscow to Helsinki and Helsinki to Rostov. Does that make any sense?!

In August 2018 we moved back to Moscow. We had previously lived there 2014-2016.
My husbands career has kept us living in Russia for a total of five and a half years so far.
Like I said, we touched base in August and we moved in to a nice apartment in a very convenient and good area and it was only a ten minute drive to my daughters school.
(If there wasn't terrible traffic!)
I really liked the apartment and the area, but unfortunately we had to move out after a month, due to problems with the apartments plumbing and the landlords.

Fortunately we got the opportunity to rent a house from a beautiful residence area right beside MKAD. (MKAD is a highway that encircles the parts of the city of Moscow).
The owners of the house are also a football associated family. We met years back when our husbands played together in Rubin Kazan and CSKA Moscow. Moving in to that house was a huge relief, it literally felt like home. Since we are a family that goes through a lot of change with switching countries often, I really feel the need to offer our children a living space that genuinely feels like their home and not just a pit stop. No matter where we move, our normal daily routine continues.
That is something I want our children to always remember... having a safe, loving home no matter where they were.

In December we left Moscow and traveled back ”home” to Helsinki  for Christmas holidays. With all intentions of returning back to Moscow, little did we know we would yet again have to pack up our whole life in to brown boxes. In January 2019 it was confirmed that Rostov-On-Don would be our next destination.

All of our things were still in Moscow, waiting to be packed up. With the help of my wonderful mother I was able to fly to Moscow for a day. I took a morning flight, had seven hours at the house to pack everything up and fly back to Helsinki in the evening. I wasn't sure I could make that deadline happen but I did!

March came along and our travel date to Rostov was finally confirmed. We flew in on the 20th and have officially been living here for six days. Before we came my husband did some house hunting and found us a beautiful house. What a relief not having to stay at a hotel! I have been working on the house from morning till evening since we've arrived. I have to say the kids have been amazing, understanding and very adapting to all the new. Unpacking is taking me a bit longer than usual since the house is missing basic storage like closets, but luckily we have Ikea in Rostov! My order arrived yesterday and now I can start arranging and sorting out our things.
I actually see a light at the end of the tunnel and I am sure I will get this mess cleared up in the next few days, which means I can start focusing on our normal routine and just spending quality time with the family.

Wishing you all a great week!

Xoxo
